Longwood Gardens

One of the worlds great gardens and former home of Pierre S. duPont. Includes 350 acres of outdoor and indoor gardens, flowers and spectacular fountains.

Winterthur

Winterhur was once the home of Henry Francis duPont and today a nine-story, 200-room estate filled with 71,000 American decorative art objects. Outside, stroll through 60 acres of gardens, woodlands and rolling meadows.

Nemours Mansion and Gardens

The estate of Alfred I. du Pont, offers the opportunity to enjoy European arts in a magnificent setting. Surrounded by 300 acres of gardens and natural woodlands, the Louis XVI-style chateau, built in 1909-1910, contains fine examples of antique furniture, oriental rugs, tapestries and paintings dating back to the 15th century. The French gardens, extending almost one-third of a mile along the main vista from the mansion, are classed with the finest found in America.

Hagley Museum and Library

Site of the first duPont family home in America, Blacksmith Hill workers community, the first black powder yards and machine shop.

Brandywine Battlefield Park

Site of the largest land battle waged during the Revolutionary War.

Brandywine River Museum

This converted gristmill houses outstanding collections of American paintings and illustrations by members of the Wyeth family and others.

Horse Country

Our surrounding county is full of rolling hills and horse farms. Fox hunting and steeple chase events are popular.
